3 ways PR pros can land media coverage with case studies
By Laura Shubel
PR Daily - January 26, 2017
PR pros of almost any industry can use case studies to get coverage. Here are the best practices for writing one: 1. Get people involved. You can’t write a case study by yourself. It must have both points of view: the end user and the perspective from your client. 2. Take photos. Similar to social media posts, case studies work better with images. 3. Keep it interesting. Because case studies aren’t breaking news, you don’t have to revert to overly factual, dry writing. Your writing should always be truthful, but you can use more flowery language and have fun writing case study stories.

Journalists evaluate a micro-pitch of up to 400 characters that gives the journalist a brief look into what the PR professional is pitching. The pitches are categorized for industry and geographic location. Once the PR person is done developing the micro pitch, they upload it to Upitch’s live swipe feed.
The Good, The Bad, and The Insta-Bots...
By Stephanie Gilbert
Small Talk Social - January 27, 2017
When it comes to automation, I’m a BIG fan. Maybe it’s because I’m a type A list-maker who loves getting stuff done. One of these days, robots will most likely advance to the point where they understand that adding happy face emojis to a post about the deceased is just not appropriate. But until that day comes, they probably shouldn’t be given the supremely large responsibility of creating honest relationships with our potential customers.

By Jim Hill
The Huffington Post - January 27, 2017
It’s been over a month now since we lost Charlie Ridgway. And for those of us who were lucky enough to know and/or work with this Disney Legend, this is a wound that will take a while to heal. “And why exactly is that?,” you say. Well, I could go on & on about my own dealings with Charlie over the past three-plus decades. What a genuine pleasure he was to work with because Mr. Ridgway was that rarer-than-rare thing: A PR guy who actually liked working with reporters.

Public relations perspective helps boards of directors be successful
By Ross K. Goldberg - President, Kevin/Ross Public Relations
Pacific Coast Business Times - January 27, 2017
In the final analysis, boards of directors are responsible for the strategic direction and sound financial stewardship of an organization. It is hard for me to imagine how a board can optimally achieve these ends and truly be effective in today’s changing world by clinging to a present that is already dying. It is time to bring new blood and fresh perspectives to the table. Public relations is a good place to start.
