Breaking Down the PESO Model: How Communicators Drive Revenue
By Gini Dietrich
Spin Sucks - October 17, 2023
The role of the communicator is a tough one. Because of politics and Hollywood, most people have an inaccurate perception of what we do. In some cases, we're seen as party planners with a large network; in others, we're seen as liars or spin doctors (hence, spin sucks).

How To Enhance Your Presentation Structure For Maximum Impact
By Adam Fisher
Media First (UK) - October 17, 2023
There's plenty to think about when asked to give a presentation. You need to consider the presentation's purpose, the key message you want to get across, how you can grab the audience's interest from the start and ensure they remain engaged, your body language, and how you will deal with audience questions.
Who's in the room? Why PRs must hear all colleagues' voices
By Sarah Browning
Influence (UK) - October 17, 2023
A few years ago, I enjoyed watching the Channel 4 drama, It’s a Sin. It depicts the lives of a group of friends living in London in the 1980s as the HIV/Aids crisis developed and impacted them directly. As you might expect from a series written by Russell T Davies, it was an engaging and moving story, packed full of very human characters. But one of the things that struck me most was when one of the characters, coming to the end of his life, says something along the lines of ‘people will only remember the awfulness of what happened to us, they won’t remember the fun and the joy we had’.
Calling Time on X
Neville Hobson - October 17, 2023
Something has changed recently with regard to X, the social network that used to be Twitter until Elon Musk arbitrarily rebranded it to X last July. Since Musk's acquisition of Twitter closed in October 2022, the social network has endured constant upheaval and chaos as Musk set about dismantling its structure and remaking it in his own image.

By Frank Strong
